Rowena Cory Daniells
Rowena Cory Daniells writes for both children and adults with nearly thirty
children's books published, ranging from Early Readers through to Young Adult.
Her award winning fantasy trilogy 'The Last T'En' was published in Australia,
the US and Germany. She writes speculative fiction short stories, which have
appeared in magazines and anthologies including 'Dreaming Downunder' which won
World Best Fantasy, and 'Dreaming Again'. Her agent is John Jarrold.
In 1996 Rowena and Marianne de Pierres were founding members of VISION, the
speculative fiction writing group. In 2001 they formed ROR, a published author,
peer critique group. Books and stories critiqued at ROR have been shortlisted
and won Aurealis Awards and World Fantasy awards.
Over the years Rowena had served on the management committees, of two
national genre awards, Romance writers of Australia, the Queensland Writers
Centre, the Brisbane Writers Festival and Fantastic Queensland. She ran the
EnVision workshop three years in a row and has done workshops or appeared on
panels at schools, libraries, writers festivals, RWA Conferences, SF
Conventions, World SF Cons, the Woodford Festival, Voices on the Coast and the
Somerset Literary Festival.
She lives by the bay with her husband and 6 children. In her spare time she
has devoted five years to studying each of these martial arts, Tae Kwon Do,
Aikido and Iaido, the art of the Samurai sword.
Her new fantasy series 'King Rolen's Kin' will be published by SOLARIS in
2010.
