Send us Your Humorous "Writer's Life" Photos

Printer-Friendly Format

Here's the first of our fun activities. We're going to create a fun video/PowerPoint Show - you know the kind: you've probably had people send them to you via email with a tag line something like 'Take a look at this, you'll love it!'.

Just take a look at the photos on this page and you'll get the idea. Stage a scenario that relates to the writing life... how do writers know what it's like trying to struggle against bonds? (They get someone to tie them up and try it for themselves!) How do they know what it feels like to be really, really cold for that story they're writing? They can stick their head in the freezer, maybe... or find a handy meat locker.

You know the kind of stuff. And below you'll find three examples.

The 'rules' are simple:

1. Create your photo. You can pose people for it, or you can use stock photos from somewhere on the Web like Clipart.com or iStockPhoto - but you must have permission to use it, it must be copyright free, or you must have taken it yourself. Don't use anyone's image without their permission.

2. Photo size limits: 500-850 pixels wide, 400-550 high.

3. Include the caption that summarises what you're trying to say, but don't add it to the photo yourself. Send it in the email with the photo.

4. Send the photo to us with an email affirming that you have the right to use the image and /or anyone in the photo has given their permission to use it.

Send the photos to: webmaster @ writing4successclub.com

Everyone will be able to download the resulting video and send it to friends. We'll keep the file size as small as possible.
