Sandy Fussell
Author of Samurai Kids

Printer-Friendly Format

Sandy Fussell is a mum, a computer programmer and a children's author. And it all goes together surprisingly well.

Her writing career is a fairy tale in which she plays Cinderella. Luckily the ball hasn't ended yet.

Sandy started writing in 2003. Samurai Kids was accepted for publication two years later and released in 2008 by Walker Books as White Crane, the first book in the illustrated Samurai Kids series.

An unrelated title, Polar boy, and the second book in the series, Owl Ninja, followed later in 2008.

Two more series titles will be released in 2009 and another historical junior novel in 2010. The first two Samurai Kids books have been published in the UK by Walker Books and will be published in the US by Candlewick Press. Sandy is currently writing like crazy before she turns back into a pumpkin!
