Janet Woods

Janet's genres are Historical saga, historical romance, modern romance, womens fiction and fantasy.

Since her success in winning the mainstream section of the romantic Book of the year with Daughter of Darkness in 2002, Janet Woods hasn't stopped working. She is now working on her 24th novel, which has a 2010 release date.


  
In the intervening years she has been published by Robert Hale and Simon and Schuster, and she now writes for Severn House. Most of her books have also sold published in audio book and large print rights. In addition, Janet has had over 50 short stories published. Janet is a member of Wordwrights critiquing group.

The co-selector and editor for the well-reviewed millennium anthology, Footprints she usually helps to assess short stories for the Romance Writers of Australia's annual anthology, Little Gems (except for 2009, when she entered it!).

She also helps judge the American RITA awards for published romance - and has several competition wins of her own under her belt.

Janet has conducted tutorials at local seminars and interstate conferences, speaks at librariesand for writers organisations, judges competitions, and has talked to creative writing students in TAFE. Janet was presented with a special service award for encouraging unpublished writers through critique of competition entries by RWA. She was nominated for the Lyn Wilding Meritorious award for outstanding service in 2003 and is an honorary life member of the Society of Women Writers, Western Australia.
